Welcome to the Apple Orchid is a comic series about three college students- Kristina, Nathan, and Kyle who are all hardcore dedicated Mac users in the world of technology. The origin of the name, “Welcome to the Apple Orchid”, is derived from the idea of the so called “Mac Lab” (Apple computers, I know, bad PUN). This is a series about the basic life of nerds, the troubles they run through, the social dilemmas everything in-between. Join them in their journeys and adventures as they stumble upon unsolvable codes, interesting dilemmas, drama, photoshop skills, and much more! This is a series with many turns, twists, and who-knows-what!
This comic will be presented in two ways. One, as a random strips on mini adventures which take place. Two, as a full-fledged comic in which there is a plot line twisted and entwined with all sorts of drama and romance (and not to mention, the skill building scenarios in photoshop). In reality, Welcome to the Apple Orchid not only can be random and well, weird… but also prove points and lessons.
Each character has their own purpose. Kristina is a hardcore nerd, who recently converted herself to apple after many years in denial about the horrible corruptions Vista has placed upon her. Kyle’s been a lifelong Mac user who is trying to learn about new technologies and advance himself in whatever there is out there even though he is indeed in web and likes to use MS paint with the option of Bootcamp and VMware Fusion. Nathan is a hardcore redneck who is also Kristina’s BFFL (best friend for life) and often enjoys arguing and being smart. Event though he cannot do HTML for the life of him and is too lazy to edit his own website.
Nate thinks he’s the brain of the operations. Always precise and right. Kristina’s more into the appearance and enjoyment of fashion. Not to mention also has a weird obsession with boys and loves to match her MAC with her clothing. Kyle’s just… confused… with everything. When he isn’t hiding in the bush, he is… well… we won’t say what as of right now.
Other interesting characters come into play as well. Chris, the bush, is Kristina’s so called “stalker”, who enjoys talking and following her, but keeps his identity shrouded in mystery cause he is afraid to show who he really is. Kyle often fines enjoyment in Chris’s “costume” and entertains himself in any way he can. Nate, on the other hand often thinks of his friends as a bit stupid and can sometimes appear elite, but he also has a soft and sensitive side not many know about. So in reality, Nate is a big squishable teddy bear.
There are many other characters as well who are still currently being constructed as of now. Edgar is Kristina’s online friend who often chats and webcams with her keeping her posted about LARPING (Live action role playing). Matt is a total drunken fool who likes to dress up and pretend he is ghetto, rapping outside his dorm building at midnight attracting a lot of attention to himself. Nick Berube is a local grocery store worker who likes to bag goods and compare real life situations with situations he found at the grocery store.
